Recipes from the kitchen
Here are some favorites that have come from our kitchen

Pumpkin Bread/muffins - For muffins use the same recipe, just cook shorter time, start checking around 20 mins. We also double this recipe...which takes some talent and some large bowls...but makes for good gifts.
Spaghetti Tacos - Only and iCarly's brother's favorite!
Nut-Free Pesto - from the basil the kids picked in the Irving Garden! How fun to feed the whole school
Fruit Leather - Mix 1/3 cup no-sugar-added fruit preserves with 1
teaspoon cornstarch. Spread into a 2-by-12-inch strip on greased
parchment; bake 45 minutes at 225 degrees F. Cool, then trim the
parchment and roll up.
Ham Pinwheels Spread scallion cream cheese on a
sun-dried-tomato tortilla and top with thinly sliced ham. Roll up the
tortilla and cut into 1/2-inch pieces.
Made with Almond Butter for all those allergic to peanut butter
For this recipe I do not use shortening...mostly because I did not realize that shortening went bad, so the first time I made this my family STILL says it is the worst thing I EVER made...instead I use melted butter...same amount. The other thing I change is that I double the sugar...yes I said it...but otherwise the cake has no taste...and then you will have to increase the milk...but just until the batter is smooth. It is so yummy!
Elliot's Grilled Cheese - melted butter on the outside of each side of the bread...and wait for the cheese to melt.
